Pilot Project for Sustainable Coastal Zone Management
The Pilot Project for Sustainable Coastal Zone Management in Sierra Leone is implemented by Wetlands International in close collaboration with CSSL.

The project has the support of different institutions including Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Forestry Division and the institute of Marine Biology and oceanography.
The aim of the project is to support efforts in sustainable coastal zone management. The long term goal of the project is to establish at least one Marine Protected Area in Sierra Leone.
The riches of Sierra Leone marine resources is invaluable, this is just a tip of what is seen everyday in most Sierra Leon’s artisanal fishing communities. The long term availability of this endowment lies heavily in the hands of Sierra Leoneans; it is therefore time to take stringent actions against pirate and illegal fishing in Sierra Leone
